To start ......
The Johansen Sisters grew up in a small town in rural Northeast Nebraska. Just out of high school, they were part of a country band for a short time which frequented local clubs from West Point to David City, and often got up to sing with their Uncle, Bill Legate, at Two Rivers just outside of Ewing. However, a change of focus to marriage and families didn’t leave much time for singing. The past several years the Johansen Sisters have been back together again singing at state and county fairs, casinos, country music theaters, festivals and churches. They have won awards for their harmony and song writing and have had the privilege of singing on Midwest Country. Just last year, Julie moved back to Nebraska from Oregon to be closer to Rhonda as their schedule gets busier. |

Their latest CD is country gospel and its title bears the name of one of their original songs, “Jesus Gave Us Victory.” Crowds continually mention how much they love the rich country sound that these girls have, as well as their fun-loving spirits on stage. The “real-life” stories of growing up together are just another facet that is shared between these two sisters. It is obvious they love to sing together and entertain crowds as they share their God-given talents.
